The 9th Tour of China International Road Cycling Race

A press conference of the 9th Tour of China International Road Cycling Race was held at the National Convention Center in Beijing on Aug 16, 2018, ahead of the official start on Sept 8. The race lasted 16 days, passing through Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong, Guizhou five provinces and Chongqing Municipality, a total of 13 stages, attracted more than 22 professional teams from China, the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, Portugal and other countries to participate in the race, elite drivers from all over the field fierce competition.

First stage

Departure · Chengdu Jintang

On September 8, the competition officially began in Jintang. Jintang, known as Tianfu Garden Water City, is rich in ecological resources and landscape. Unique scenic spots, numerous tourism brands. The cyclists started their first journey in this beautiful garden city.

Queen's Stage in Pyeongchang, Sichuan Province

The next day, Pyeongchang, known as the "Queen's Stage", "the most beautiful Stage" and "the most challenging stage", has four consecutive climbs and turns, including one of the most difficult first grade and two second grade hills in the Tour of China. Juan Sebastian Molano of Colombia's Manzana team won the Pyeongchang stage after three hours and 24 minutes. Chen Mingrun from China's Hengxiang Intercontinental Team won the second place in the Pyeongchang stage to win the best in Greater China.

Ancient village style · Enyang Sai

With a total length of 158 kilometers, the Enyang stage passes through seven towns, including Dengke Street in Enyang District and Guanyinjing Town, and passes through seven main roads of cities, counties and townships, perfectly connecting beautiful scenery along the way.

Hundred miles of bamboo Sea, Chongqing Liangping

The Chongqing 100 Li Bamboo Sea Stage is 69.9 kilometers long, and the terrain is mainly undulating, but also full of fun. Through the city, rice fields, bamboo sea, and around the beautiful scenery of the Zhufeng Lake two circles, let the competitors in the picture scroll speed, struggle in the beautiful scenery.

Yichang · Zhijiang

The Zhijiang stage was the fifth day of the first stage of the 2018 Tour of China, which started in Zhijiang on September 12. After three consecutive days of mountain stages, the riders began the flat lap race in Zhijiang. The total length of the stage is 127.4km. China's Niu Yikui recaptured the white shirt, the best symbol of Greater China.

Qianjiang

On September 13th, the competition moved to Qianjiang, the "hometown of Lobster", which was also the sixth day of the first stage. The Italian Ripo-Vignantini team got a taste of victory on this stage when Demiano Cima won the Yellow Wood on his birthday to give the team its first victory in the Tour of China.

Xinning Langshan · Wei Station

On September 16, 2018 Tour of China International Road Cycling Race came to the beautiful Langshan. Langshan stage is the last stage of the first stage of the Tour of China. Langshan Stage is the final stage of the tour.

Second stage

Xinning Langshan · prologue Race

Typhoon 2018 Tour of China's second stage started in the rain due to the impact of "Mangokhut". Today will usher in the first individual time trial of the Tour of China. Although the heavy rain brings some challenges to the deployment of equipment, we are a professional technical service team to ensure the accuracy of the game.

Pinglu Road · Yongzhou Ningyuan

After the opening game, the event was moved to Ningyuan. In Yongzhou, the journey is smooth, but the race is bumpy. Yeongju, which was greeted by Typhoon Mangkhut, has been experiencing drizzling rain for several days. Still, the enthusiasm of the runners was not affected, Morano sprinted to victory, Giacoppo to save Huang Shan.

Hill Road · Qingyuan Buddha Gang

After the typhoon, everything was in order in Fogang, Qingyuan, where the temperature reached 34° at one point, which also posed many challenges. The opening stages saw riders trying to break through, but no one could really establish an advantage and the race ended up being a mass sprint.

Hengqin, Zhuhai

On September 20, 2018 Tour of China ushered in the fourth race day of the second stage in Hengqin, Zhuhai, which is the second consecutive year after last year. In the Hengqin stage of Zhuhai in southern China, the temperature exceeded 33℃ at noon. Not only ignited the fighting spirit of the competitors, but also detonated the enthusiasm of the audience along the way.

Transfer · Anshun, Guizhou

The Anshun stage starts from Tubaoshan Square in Xixiu District and passes through Huangguoshu Street, Zhonghua Road, Zhonghua North Road and Xishui Road. The length of individual time trial route is 21.3 km and the length of lap race is 127.8 km. The 2018 Tour of China International Road Cycling Race ended with the Anshun Lap Race after 16 days.
